We want to empower the current generation of young Jews, instilling a sense of pride and joy in their heritage. We believe that being Jewish is absolutely legendary, and we aim to showcase the awesomeness of our nation in a way that resonates with yidden today.
Our Story
How it all started...
Gishmak Herring was born out of the boredom of lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. I started university in September 2020, and with everything online, I found myself missing the extracurricular activities that had always been a big part of my life. Inspired by my recent yeshiva year in Israel, I decided to create my own activity: sharing Jewish memes and Divrei Torah online. The turning point came when two Chabad rabbis visited my school for Shabbat, bringing herring with them. We filmed a herring review, and people loved it! Encouraged by my friends, I continued creating herring reviews, and over the next two years, we hosted bigger guests with larger followings.
Since October 7th, Gishmak Herring has taken on a new role in advocacy, using our platform to share the truth about Israel in a humorous and engaging way. Even in times of war and tragedy, we believe in the importance of making people smile and spreading happiness.
